Striving to be a better person and live life to its fullest should happen every day of the week.
As a nurse, my mother’s passion was taking care of the elderly in nursing homes. Although I had never been interested in nursing, at her request, I became a caregiver for my mother in her final months and days. I had to learn on the fly. Some days, she could walk me through it. Other days, I was in uncharted territory.
I remember feeling unprepared for this moment because my mother was not elderly. I watched this once vivacious woman of 54 years come to terms with the fact that she was out of time. I marveled at her determination to be present and in charge; to strive to continue teaching life lessons.
April 2, 2015, was my pivot point.
Early that morning, my mother struggled to say her last words as our family said our goodbyes. This was one final, beautiful gift my mother was able to give those she loved. How blessed we were that she had the opportunity and the last ounce of strength to tell us!
After this experience, I began to reflect deeply on my life up to this point. I wanted to make serious, positive changes that would last the remainder of my life. I wanted my family and friends to remember me fondly. I didn’t want my loved ones to question how I felt about them if I didn’t have the chance to say my final personal goodbye.
Say Live Love is now my personal mission.
I first created Say Live Love to help myself through the grieving process and honor the blessings of my mother’s final days and hours. I wanted to find the courage to say the things that needed to be said and live a truly meaningful life filled with love. Say Live Love has since become a journey of self-discovery, self-improvement, and a desire to encourage others that may be struggling on the same path.
You’re invited to join me on this journey! I’ll send uplifting reminders and words of encouragement to keep you motivated during your own personal transformation. Subscribe below to start living life to it’s fullest and making wonderful memories with your loved ones!
I’m ‘chele Neisler. I’ve been blogging and operating e-commerce websites since 2002.
Thanks to the freedom of homeschooling, I was able to care for my mother in her own home over the span of nine months. My sons learned valuable life lessons that could never be learned from simply reading a book.
Say Live Love is a team effort and continued learning experience with my sons, Tristan and Levi.
Tristan helps with content planning and creation. You’ll also hear his voice in most podcast episodes.
Levi edits our podcasts to help us sound great. He also recites the motivational quotes in our podcast episodes.
Through Say Live Love, we are focused on becoming the best possible version of ourselves, living life to the fullest, and strengthening family and personal relationships. We feel honored to share our project of love and inspiration with you.
